10-minute home-care compliance software evaluation checklist
For home-care and home-health agency owners, administrators, operations directors, and compliance managers. Use fictional staff records during software demonstrations; never use patient information.
- Applicability: Can the vendor explain why a requirement applies to a specific role, location and agency type?
- Evidence: Can you inspect documents, dates, sources and verification history behind a status?
- Uncertainty: Are unavailable registry checks marked for review rather than treated as clearance?
- Expirations: Can you identify upcoming credential deadlines before they become urgent?
- Follow-up: Can you see who contacted the worker and what remains unresolved?
- Exceptions: Does the system distinguish human-review items from routine reminders?
- Audit readiness: Can you retrieve a chronology of checks and corrections?
- Onboarding: Can an existing caregiver roster be imported safely?
- Security: Are staff records restricted to authorized agency users?
- Trial: Can you test these workflows with representative non-sensitive sample data?
A useful demo exercise
Create two fictional caregivers: one with an upcoming expiration and another with missing verification evidence. Ask the vendor to demonstrate the resulting status, follow-up history, and administrator next action. A dashboard alone does not prove the workflow.

AideClear focuses on workforce compliance checks, reminders, evidence history and items needing administrator attention. It does not replace legal judgment, scheduling, EVV or patient records. Availability of external verification depends on the source and authorization.
